Meet the Founder of Drone Right - Gabe Patton!
Gabe Patton is a U.S. Air Force veteran, award-winning educator, and aviation professional with more than three decades of experience in manned and unmanned aviation, regulatory compliance, and program management.
His Air Force career includes multiple deployment operations as well as extensive work with the U.S. Air Force Flight Test Center, where he supported and managed experimental flight and research programs with Boeing, NASA, and DARPA—advancing aerospace technology, innovation, and operational safety.
During his Air Force career, Gabe served in multiple leadership roles, including the Group Exercise Evaluation Team Lead while being stationed overseas, where he designed, implemented, and assessed large-scale training scenarios simulating military action with foreign countries. This experience refined his ability to develop complex, outcome-driven training environments—a skill he now applies in creating realistic, measurable drone training scenarios for agencies and organizations across the U.S.
Some of Gabe’s contributions to unmanned aviation development are on display in the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C., a testament to his lasting impact on the evolution of unmanned aviation. Gabe holds a degree in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University along with multiple FAA certifications.
Today, Gabe applies that expertise to help organizations develop, manage, and sustain drone programs that are compliant, capable, and mission-ready. His approach combines the discipline of aviation program management with the practical insight required for modern drone operations across public safety, education, and commercial sectors.
